Tax Planning

Tax Planning helps you structure your asset holding to minimise taxes paid by your estate and beneficiaries after your death

WHAT IS TAX PLANNING?

Tax planning is the process of arranging your financial affairs in such a way that you minimise taxes paid by your estate and beneficiaries after your death.

Our estate planners will work with you on the use of legal strategies to reduce or eliminate taxes on assets transferred during your lifetime and at death.

ESTATE DUTIES

Estate duty is a tax on the total market value of a person’s assets (cash and non-cash) at the date of death. All assets owned in your name at death is your estate.

While Singapore has abolished estate duties in Singapore since 2008, you may still incur estate duties for overseas assets.

INHERITENCE TAXES

Inheritance tax is a tax imposed by some countries on the recipients of inherited assets. Inheritance tax is paid by the recipient of a bequest rather than the estate itself.

Beneficiaries in Singapore are not subject to inheritance taxes, but your overseas beneficiaries may incur this cost.
Every man is entitled if he can to order his affairs so that the tax attaching under the appropriate Act is less than it otherwise would be
