John Sim is a passionate believer that education is key to achieving success in life. He acts out this believe through Eduvantage Pte Ltd, a social enterprise he founded in 2011 that conducts complimentary seminars in the areas of wealth optimisation, healthy living and relationship building.

After graduating with an Honours (2nd Upper) degree in Computer Science and Information Systems from the National University of Singapore, he stayed on to teach in NUS for 2 years while concurrently earning his Master of Science degree.

At the height of the dotcom boom, he co-founded Advanced Network Technology Laboratories (ANTlabs) with a few classmates. After cycling through various technical, sales, operations, product and management roles, he and the co-founders brought the company from a start-up, through 2 rounds of VC funding and an MBO to become a stable, profitable company with annual turnover of a few million dollars. ANTlabs is currently the Asia Pacific market leader in Internet Access Gateways and counts many regional telcos and international hotel brands as its customers

He has followed his passion in legacy and estate planning and shares on the website legacyplanning.sg. He also lectures at Precepts Academy in the area of estate planning and at various educational providers for the CFP® certification and other technology programmes.

Over the last decade, he has more than 1,500 financial advisers, insurance agents, and related professionals, disseminating knowledge that ensures families can express their love through well-crafted estate plans. His speaking engagements have spanned various prestigious financial institutions, including banks and insurance companies, where he has advocated for estate planning as an essential component to one’s financial plans.
